Education and Professional Credentials
--------------------------------------------------------
I am a Health Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). After completing a bachelor's degree in Psychology, I went on to complete a master's degree in Psychology Health and Behaviour. I further pursued a specialized master's degree in Health Psychology and completed the Professional Doctorate Programme in Health Psychology.
My research background focused on exploring female drinking behaviors within ethnic minority communities. This involved examining cultural boundaries, multiple identities, the internal recognition of religious values, and external identification with modern British society. I also conducted research on communication in health, specifically looking at the barriers primary health care professionals face when discussing sexual health.

Clinical Experience and Expertise

In addition to my work in the private sector, I collaborated with local authorities to carry out specialist assessments and provide evidence-based psychological therapy to adults living with a mental health diagnosis and presenting with a range of comorbidities. These comorbidities include conditions such as anxiety, depression, and physical health conditions like diabetes, asthma, and Parkinson's. I have been dedicated to helping individuals progress from high-intensity living towards step-down living.

Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse client groups in various settings, including early intervention services, adult mental health, and older adults, both in the private sector and the NHS. I have designed and delivered interventions to professionals to improve the physical health outcomes of individuals with a mental health diagnosis.
Within NHS community services, I have provided psychological therapy to the older adult population facing anxiety, depression, and cognitive impairment. Alongside my clinical work, I regularly provide training to organizations on topics such as mental health awareness, mental health crisis management, and stress management. I am also an active volunteer with charitable organizations, offering support to individuals experiencing emotional distress.
Additionally, I am trained in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of various assessment tools to support my work and ensure effective treatment planning and intervention.
